This question is a special question.
Okay, I am trying to help my family and friends to get healthier,
but they don't seem to want to make any changes.
Do you have any advice for how I can help them?
Has anybody run into that problem besides the person asking the question?
Over the years, I've seen that happen lots and lots of times.
What I have found always the best way to make changes
or to egg the family on to making changes and getting them to do things that are better for themselves and so forth.
The best way to do that is leading by example.
I found it to be the most successful no matter what.
Well, that's the first part.
If that's not there, then it's hard to get the rest done about persuading them into the right direction.
So the bottom line is you want to lead by example and you want to do things for yourself and let it show.
So whether your diet's getting better, you have them see you eating better.
Of course you might get different people have different families.
There's two kinds of people in the world, people with families that comply, people that have families that don't comply as far as moving forward to getting healthy.
so uh the bottom line is is that you want to lead by you know lead the direction lead by example
uh you know administer all the example all the things that you can do for your health showcase
and exhibit your uh wanting to get better for yourself showcase and exhibit you know different
things for you if you're eating a bowl of blueberries next to a family member that's
eating some kind of, you know, sugar colored flakes, sugar, sugar coated, you know, um,
chocolatey blue and purpley colored chocolate flakes or something, then yeah, you, you want
to make sure that you're showcasing, you're eating blueberries and they're eating, you
know, this crazy whacked out, you know, Franken food of all these different little puffs that
are lit like fluorescent lights of green, yellow and what's so whatever.
So there's all kinds of different cereals, you know, out there, I guess.
The bottom line is you definitely want to show them.
And that's what counts first.
But they could be really stubborn.
We know that.
Anybody can.
So we can get stubborn and still even if family members see you improve your health.
I've seen people improve their health, obviously, heal from horrible illnesses.
and then still the other family members don't want to budge on anything with health,
whether it's supplements or foods or exercise.
So you got to sell them.
You have to sell them without getting them upset.
That's what family members you have to work with.
You have to sell them by showing them, hey, I'm doing it.
I'm doing a great job.
Look what I'm eating.
Look how I'm exercising.
Look how I'm taking care of myself.
Look at me.
Look at me.
Look at me.
And that's one way to sell them.
That's one way to do it.
The other is you bring in a supplement that's pretty common and pretty well known, like,
you know, maybe some B12, maybe some magnesium and you, or a B complex, a B vitamin, and
you start small and you see if you can get them hooked on a vitamin that's going to help
them stay strong, help them heal, help them help benefit their health. It's baby steps, man. It's
baby steps. So you do, you do something where you bring in a supplement. Um, you, you make some food
for them. One thing, if you make food for family members and friends that don't want to budge on
getting their health better or doing anything around that, making something is one of the other
key and effective ways of getting them interested because they may feel they don't want to let you
down. They may feel that instead of like insulting you because mannerism will take over, you know,
manners that will take over. It's like, okay, I will eat this bowl of quinoa and vegetables.
I'll eat this wild salmon with, you know, with asparagus. If you make it for them,
then they may not want to hurt your feelings or insult you and then the manners kick in
and the mannerism wins and then you got them eating and then you can get them into a habit
and get them hooked on it so it's all about getting a family member to start a new habit
by watching you by you making them something by you bringing maybe some basics in
and there's a lot of tasty food now.
You know, there's a lot of tasty food that's kind of, you know,
you've got dehydrated crackers, dehydrated chips.
They're really healthy.
You know, they're healthy enough anyway.
And you can actually at least, you know, offer that
and see what you can get a family member to like and enjoy.
How great, how awesome is that?
And you take one step at a time.
And you'd be surprised what happens.
You really do.
You'd be surprised.
And you know what?
people love fruit or they like fruit even if they don't eat fruit so you offer a tangerine to a
family member simple as that you'd be surprised family member will take a tangerine and peel it
and eat it and have a smile on their face and you did something for their health you got them
vitamin c you got them bioflavonoids you just got that right in there in their body with a tangerine
so that's the key you just gotta do you just gotta try all the different things
but it's a great question. Thank you for asking that one.
